The Sesame War - Part 1

Welcome to Part 1 of the Sesame War! Here, a new political party in Czechoslovakia forced the United States and Soviet Union to set aside their differences… again. We’ll find out who this political party was in this new series.

It was 1945. World War II just ended, and the United States and Soviet Union entered the Cold War. But a new political party was established in Czechoslovakia that resulted in a full war. Led by Party Secretary Abby Caddaby, Military Manager Big Bird, and Judicial Manager Elmo Monster, the Sesame Street Party set their aim on taking over the country.

Then, in 1948, Joseph Stalin added Czechoslovakia to his list of satellite states. (He did in real life.) But a day before the first speech of the communist party, members of Sesame Street launched a coup that forced the communists to leave. As you can tell, they were against communism. But they were also against democracy. They were on the right of the spectrum.

Eventually, Sesame Street-controlled Czechoslovakia became so threatening that the United States and Soviet Union had to set aside their differences for a time. Though they hadn’t killed anyone by this point, too many people were listening to their lies and propaganda. So both countries declared war on Czechoslovakia on January 17, 1949. France and the United Kingdom followed two days later, and Poland and Hungary followed the day after.

The war front surrounded Czechoslovakia, and half the world was at war with them. But it was a stalemate for the first six months of the war.

We’ll continue when we release the next part of the Sesame War. Stay tuned for the next part.
