But in this timeline, they changed their minds last minute and decided to support him in ruling Rome as a dictator for life. Caesar and the conspirators had a real meeting, with the conspirators not revealing any daggers. The Second Triumvirate of Mark Antony (Marcus Antonius), Gaius Octavian, and Marcus Lepidus was formed to avenge Caesar by declaring war on Brutus and Cassius.
